In my opinion, other brands are now in-play for my next purchase if either of my older Stihls bites the dust. Don’t limit your options. Unfortunately the same can be said for everything these days. WebSep 18, 2024 · I have a Stihl model 028 that just had a somewhat similar problem. I noticed that actuator bar between the throttle trigger and the carburetor wobbled when I pulled the trigger. Turns out the plastic top on the handle had come loose and was no longer properly installed and in coming loose, it let the actuator bar come off the trigger.

It is possible that it may just need a carb tune up. I would take it back to the dealer and have them fool with it. It might be covered under warranty. Jun 28, 2013 #3
WebMay 24, 2024 · OK, I seldom run into this with a new Stihl chainsaw, but I have a real problem with an MS251C. It has the new pull cord start assist mechanism that drives me a bit crazy. Regardless, this saw refuses to start using the typical procedure discussed in the Operator's Manual. I doubt the saw has 5 hours of run time under its belt. WebMar 19, 2024 · Mar 19, 2024. #1. New here to the forum, looking for some help with my stihl 044 chainsaw. Chainsaw runs fine with air filter off , but as soon as I put the filter back on, seems like it isn’t receiving any fuel and bogs down to the point where it can’t be used. Chain doesn’t spin with filter on either, sounds like it’s choked for air.

Not an exhaust port or the large transfer ports in a 046.
